Well, what a week. In some ways it’s been fab because at last, Decent Exposure has been dropping through letterboxes and into porches all over the UK - and already some people have read it and been kind enough to post feedback on my fave cyber hang-out, C19.
Trouble is I haven’t been able to tell anyone about it because BT (grrrrrr!!!!!) have cut off my broadband connection (their mistake) and have no idea when they might restore it. I’m not going to say any more but they have caused so much hassle this week, i have the voodoo doll out and a new character all ready to make an appearance of bitch/git-from-hell in a future book. Not that I bear grudges.
Aside from that, it’s been a really exciting week and I’m now waiting for the first sighting of my book on the shelves. If anyone sees it, do let me know. It seems so long ago since I first started this book. Right from the start I was obsessed with the world of Will and Emma and longing to share their story with other people. They’re a bit of a sparky pair, and both infuriating at times - but they have their reasons. /p>
Hope to get reconnected soon and not have to be sitting on my butt in the health club with a large Costa, writing my posts. It’s agony, it really is and I just saw my personal trainer off to do a spinning class. Did I tell you he’s training to be a fire fighter? I must get my broadband cut off more often.

The first chapter of Decent Exposure is available to read as a pdf now by clicking here.
Hope you enjoy it!
Stayed up late last night to watch a fab programme on BBC4 called ‘Reader, I Married Him’. It was an hour devoted solely to romantic fiction, from Jane Eyre to…Little Black Dress with contributions from lots of romance authors including Marian Keyes, Jilly Cooper, Katie Fforde and many more.
The best bit (and unexpected) part was the interview with Headline editor Harriet Evans about the new LBD series. The presenter, Daisy Goodwin, really got to the heart of why romantic fiction is so successful and celebrated the whole genre. There are three programmes in the series and next week tackles the subject of romantic heroes. Mr Darcy, Mr Rochester and Rhett Butler will all feature and I understand that readers will be trying to create an ‘identikit’ hero using a police computer.

Yesterday I was in the bath when someone knocked at the front door. Clutching a towel, I peeked through the curtains and saw a big white van and a man.
“It’s DHL. I’ve got some books for you,” he called.
“Waiitttttttttt!” I shrieked, guessing what the books were.
Anyway, I got dressed and flew downstairs to collect my author copies of Decent Exposure from him. He no doubt thinks I’m bonkers but hey, he can join a growing list. It was fab to have the copies in my hand and I’ve posted the acknowledgements page below. Only two weeks to go now.
