It’s windy…

January 18, 2007 | 1 Comment

We’ve had tremendous gales and rain across the Uk today and lots of trees are down. Here’s a pic I took of a tree blocking the road into our village. I hope you all stay safe - Cassandra has just had a big conifer fall over just feet from her, but she’s okay.

On the mend

January 17, 2007 | 2 Comments

My daughter has had the all-clear to go back to college at the weekend. She has to take things easy and ‘not burn the candle at both ends’ but she can go back. I think she’d had GF for quite a while, longer than we thought. I shall miss her but I’m delighted she’s going to be with her friends again.

I am still waiting for a progress report on another front but I’m going to hear very soon.

Decent Exposure is available in selected Waterstones bookshops now and also in most Asda stores as part of a gorgeous box set for a limited period.

News…

My daughter is feeling much better and raring to get back to college but that depends on Dr’s orders.

I have been asked to give a talk and reading by the readers’ group at Kings Norton Library, in Birmingham. The theme is a ‘girly night in’ with hot chocolate and other goodies. Sounds like fun. It will be one Thursday in March so I will post details here when I have them. This is only my second ever event like this and I’m a bit nervous but also very pleased to be asked.

I just managed to get two of the LBD box sets containing Decent Exposure as some hardworking ladies at Asda Minworth were re-stocking the shelves with them. I just had to to tell them ‘that’s my book’. Hurrah! for Asda staff, for a - not laughing at me and b - being friendly and calling me a ‘real-life author’. The cheque’s in the post, girls. ;)

Waterstone’s

January 10, 2007 | 3 Comments

I’ve posted an update of my daughter on the previous post. At least she’s getting some meds now though she can’t go back to college for a few days, at least.

12th Jan - *Further update. I’m afraid she has got Glandular Fever and is terribly upset at missing the start of term but the doc sys she has to keep away and rest up for a couple of weeks. Thanks for all your good wishes*

On a book front, if you still haven’t got Decent Exposure and would like a copy, you can now order it and the other LBD’s from many Waterstone’s high street bookshops. They’ve launched a fab new website where you can see ‘inside’ many books. Decent Exposure first page isn’t up yet, but I’m hoping it will be soon. They also have a very useful availability section which tells show exactly which stores have the books in stock, so if you love browsing, you can do. Click here to see which shops are stocking it and where.

Of course, you can buy the book from Borders, Amazon.co.uk, Play.com and Waterstones.com too and it’s also on sale in larger bookshops in Australia and tons of other sites all over the web.

More news soon.

Thank you for your lovely messages about Miss B and other things.
