Whew. Am still recovering from the LBD party. It was very glamorous with almost everyone in their LBDs. The wine and Pimms flowed (ahem), the canapes were yummy and there were LOTS of Little Black Dress hardbacks everywhere, artfully arranged amongst glittery black candles. My books were in the foyer, on the tables, even in the pink loos! We all had gorgeous goody bags filled with books, treats and chocolate. Totally surreal ….
I spent the evening talking with editors, agents, Headliners and my fellow authors Julie Cohen, Kate Lace and Lorelei Mathias.
Afterwards I was whisked off (wisely) to Duckface’s new house for cheese on toast. The next day I had a taste of culture at The Wallace Collection, one of Europe’s finest art collections (also where The Impressionists was filmed.)

Now off to WORK!!!!
Still can’t tell you about the news…

Liz Fenwick Says:
Sounds like it was a wonderful evening! The Wallace collection is great
I look forward to hearing your news!
Nell Dixon Says:
It sounds very glamerous. Glad you had a good time.
Leena Says:
The party sounds wonderful, but I’m sorry, I’m de-lurking just to ask…
Is that Richard Armitage with BLOND hair??
Phillipa Says:
Hi Nell & Liz. It was surreal, actually, and meeting Catherine, Lorelei and Julie again was lovely. Some press were there too and we had our photo taken for Publishers Weekly. Gulp.
Leena - yes, that’s RA as Young Monet…
Duckface Says:
There is nothing like cheese on toast when you have the munchies !!
Cally Says:
sounds lyk you had a wonderful evening… hah… it must be heaven to be surround by LBD books and getting their goodie bags…
Phillipa Says:
Cally - the little black bag had (wrapped in pink tissue) two LBD paperbacks, Galaxy chocolate and LBD goodies - I had a black nail file which I’ve given to the dd as I’ve worn down her Sugar nailfile.
I wore a Ben De Lisi LBD with black satin shoes and a green sparkly shrug. Not that anyone needed to know but hey…
