Whizzing in to thank Helen Towers, the staff of Cumbria libraries and the glorious Higham Hall for making me so welcome at the Pure Passion Day, which was superbly organised. Also to the readers and writers who came along.
And hello to Anna, Roger, Linda and James Nash, poet and possibly the coolest guy on the planet.
I’ve been out a lot over the past few weeks; I’m really busy with my day job again and I need to immerse myself in my new book so farewell for a while…
PS Just discovered that Barbara Hannay has won a RITA - the Oscars of the romance writing world. Great news Barb!

I understand that Radio Cumbria are devoting a 2 hour programme to the Pure Passion Promotion which I’m taking part in next weekend.
The radio interview is on Friday 13th July (!) and the romantic suspense author, Anna Louise Lucia, who lives and works in Cumbria, is hosting. Please listen in, phone in with any questions about writing romance and give Anna your support.
More details of the radio phone-in as soon as I have them.

Got back last night from my day visit to my first RNA Conference. I packed in so much - and learned so much. Not just from the workshops, but from talking to new writers and experienced authors such as Bernadine Kennedy, Jodi Thomas, Kate Walker, Katie Fforde and Kate Lace. I also caught up with Alison and Nell which was a real pleasure, as ever. Bring on the tea and cakes, girls…
I now have the Joan Hessayon Award sitting on the mantlepiece and I could go and on but I’m not going to; I have day job work and also I am desperate to get back in the bubble of my new book!
PS Lovereading are running a fantastic Little Black Dress summer promotion. Jump over there now!
PPS Jodi and Bernadine. Apologies for flopping down next to you and gossiping as if I was er… anybody at all. You know, I once sat next to the late Edwin Starr, soul legend, on a train to London and moaned about my love life as I thought he was just a nice guy.

Yesterday I heard that the large print rights to Wish You Were Here have been bought by Ulverscroft , the leading world-wide publishers of large print books. I’m absolutely delighted as it means my new book is going to be more accessible to readers with visual impairments or who just prefer a larger typeface.
Off to the RNA Conference on Sunday then the Pure Passion Day in Cumbria next week.
And I’m in love with the hero of my current wip. This morning he was (half) wearing a wetsuit and it was *hell* trying to describe him. Have persuaded Mr B to put his shorty on over the weekend for research purposes (he windsurfs and sails) He’ll kill me for telling you that. Have tried (and failed) to find a pic I like of Keanu Reeves plus wetsuit in Point Break so this will have to do, I’m afraid.
