We joined Amazon DVD rental recently and last night watched our second movie - Into the Blue - which was ordered by Miss B on account of it being a - action b - set in the Caribbean and c - featuring Paul Walker.
I don’t normally go for blond heroes but I decided to have one in the current book I’m writing and if I say so myself, he’s hot. At first I thought of him as Wentworth Miller-ish, but I’m afraid he’s now firmly fixed in my mind as Paul Walker. He spends most of the time wet, brooding and in board shorts or a wet suit ( the guy in Just Say yes, not Paul…)
Into the Blue is a fun film: not a great one but it has fabulous underwater scenes, sexy characters and a lot of action. Just what I need when my brain is whacked as it is every night these days. I just want entertainment!

This week has been strange but has just improved massively with the news I heard before lunch. But it’s not my news, it’s Nell Dixon’s so go visit her NOW, please here.
Being an author is surreal, especially when, like me, you haven’t had much time to get used to it. Everything is new: and yesterday brought my first ‘big’ review for Wish You Were Here on the uber-cool Trashionista site which is devoted to women’s fiction. They gave the book three stars and liked a lot of it (but not everything) and loved the characters. I’m thrilled to be reviewed on Trashionista and I hope you’ll make your own minds up about the book’s ending.

As Meatloaf almost said, three out of five ain’t bad, and guess who else got 3 stars - Marian Keyes, Sophie Kinsella and um… Jane Austen for Persuasion (sorry Trashionista but I’d have given JA 50 out of 5!)
So, on balance, a small hurrah! I now feel I’ve really arrived…
You can read the whole review here.
PS I forgot to say my agent told me the hard cover of Wish You Were Here has been selling incredibly well. Readers clearly do still love hardbacks and to be honest, all the hardback LBDs are utterly gorgeous and totally covetable. Double hurrah!

The crows of doubt have got me. A little late in the day but they have me! Help!
I’m not a big Elvis fan but can’t believe it’s been 30 years since he left the building for good.

There’s a devoted fan called Eunice who lives in a nearby village to us. She has a statue of The King in her garden and I think she may be planning an Elvis tribute gig on her front lawn. If I can find a link or pictures, I’ll post them.
