I heard some great news this morning - one of the members of the North & South fansite board, which got me started on writing fiction, has just had her Regency novel accepted by a romance publisher. I don’t know the details yet. She also joined the RNA NWS so I think she’ll be eligible for the Joan Hessayon Prize.
Congrats, Freddie (as we know her). I hope you’ll come along here and unmask yourself soon. I have just discovered that she lives in the Midlands too. There is definitely something in our water…
Also congrats to another N&S person, Rosy Thornton, whose new novel, Hearts and Minds, arrived at my house this morning. It’s beautiful and the reviews on the cover are to die for.

Fab news!!! I love to hear sale stories.
Freddie Says:
Freddie here, unmasking as requested: I’m also known as Liz!
Thanks for giving me a mention on your blog, Phillipa. Yes, I’m a Midlands girl too; we’re a creative bunch! Being accepted is very exciting and I’m still struggling to take it in. I’ll be back with more details when I get them. The RNA NWS is a fantastic way of encouraging new writers and providing them with objective feedback. And judging by the photos in the RNA magazines, the meetings are great fun too!
Freddie Says:
PS - forgot to add: well done to Rosy for Hearts and Minds!
