Congrats to Freddie and Rosy

October 17, 2007

I heard some great news this morning – one of the members of the North & South fansite board, which got me started on writing fiction, has just had her Regency novel accepted by a romance publisher. I don’t know the details yet. She also joined the RNA NWS so I think she’ll be eligible for the Joan Hessayon Prize.

Congrats, Freddie (as we know her). I hope you’ll come along here and unmask yourself soon. I have just discovered that she lives in the Midlands too. There is definitely something in our water…

Also congrats to another N&S person, Rosy Thornton, whose new novel, Hearts and Minds, arrived at my house this morning. It’s beautiful and the reviews on the cover are to die for.

Freddie here, unmasking as requested: I’m also known as Liz!

Thanks for giving me a mention on your blog, Phillipa. Yes, I’m a Midlands girl too; we’re a creative bunch! Being accepted is very exciting and I’m still struggling to take it in. I’ll be back with more details when I get them. The RNA NWS is a fantastic way of encouraging new writers and providing them with objective feedback. And judging by the photos in the RNA magazines, the meetings are great fun too!

  5. Freddie Says:

PS – forgot to add: well done to Rosy for Hearts and Minds!
