I’m on Radio 5Live

Um…. I’m going to be a guest on the Richard Bacon show on BBC Radio 5 Live on February 14th at 11pm - yes, at night - speaking up in defence of Valentine’s Day.

You can take part in the programme and fill in a Love Survey here - and do post any ideas of what you think about Valentine’s Day. You can listen in on the web and phone in with your views. Or email me if you’ve any Valentine’s Day related anecdotes you want to share.

You can also email the show.

Personally, I love the whole cheesy, romantic idea!

BBC 5 Live is possibly the UK’s most listened-to talk/sport radio station and is broadcast nationwide. Me? Scared? Nah… (I’m off to get the Bach Rescue Remedy now.)

PS And please keep the quiz entries coming!

Want to write for Little Black Dress?

February 5, 2008 | Comments

I hadn’t seen this but there is a great interview with LBD associate publisher (and one of my eds), Cat Cobain here.

It’s very interesting to hear Cat’s take on LBD. I agree totally with her advice to stop writing/have spaces and to write what moves you. As they say in advertising, white space sells.

PS Don’t forget to enter the contest! Win books, chocs…

Romance in the air

Comments

Romance in the air today. Congratulations to Freya North who won the Romantic Novel of the Year yesterday and also to Kate Hardy who won The Romance Prize for shorter, category length fiction.

Oh… and there’s a rumour going around that Richard Armitage may be taking over the lead in a ‘top secret’ spy drama (maybe Spooks?) He was at the Covers party at the Radio Times and dropped a big hint.

Please keep the entries coming for the Valentine’s Day contest - ten days to go - I need even more or I’ll have to eat the chocolates.

Valentine’s Competition

February 1, 2008 | 20 Comments

There is, allegedly, a popular belief that birds choose their mates on Valentine’s Day. Which means that right now, they must be buying sexy underwear, booking a restaurant and queueing outside Thornton’s (that’s a chocolate shop not a cotton mill.)

Seriously, what better excuse could there be to run a Valentine’s competition? The prizes are either a signed copy of Decent Exposure or Wish You Were Here plus another LBD of your choice from my collection. I’ve got quite a few and if you’ve got all of those, I can rustle up another chick lit or romance novel.

If I get lots of entries (or even a few) I will throw in some cute Thorntons chocs. :) Closing date is before Feb 14th.

To enter, just email me via the site or post a message.

PS If you speak Thai or are just feeling exotic, you can have a Thai edition of Decent Exposure.
