This morning has been manic and sunshine has broken through the clouds. The proofs of Just Say Yes arrived by special delivery – I was SO excited. I can’t wait for you to read it.
This is the scene:
Me: Sorry I’m in my pyjamas and look minging again! I do work you know. I’m a writer.
Postman: I know you’re a writer. My sister read your book and loved it.
Me (ripping proofs from package) : Really? (incredulous) Oh! Here look! This is my new book….
Postman: Yes. Very exciting but I need to finish my round now.
Then, while still in my jim jams, I got asked to go on Three Counties radio at 10 mins notice. I had to defend the honour of romantic fiction – as soon as the show finishes, I’ll put a link to it. Goodness knows what I said!
OK – it was The Nine O’Clock Show on BBC Three Counties Radio. There’s a listen again feature via that site. I was on about 10.30am.

I went to London yesterday on business and pleasure. Normally I love London and its buzz but yesterday? No. It was cold, dark and it poured down. My train broke down on the way home and made us one hour late.
But the day held some great pleasures too. They included lunch with my agent and Bellinis with Julie, who is like a breath of fresh air.
On the train I met three fascinating people – a screenwriting policeman, a photographic artist and an archivist who has her own band. They made my journey home far more bearable than it would have been so, hi guys.
Then, this morning, I had the small but very welcome surprise of finding both my books on a new Amazon Listmania. The lovely reader described Decent Exposure as ‘A Guilty Pleasure’ and Wish You Were Here as ‘Flirty and fresh’. That will do for me – thank you! And JSY has already started shooting up the charts – for this morning anyway.
