Well, I will probably now suffer the fate of Messrs Ross and Brand after my interview on Radio Newcastle this afternoon took an embarrassing turn.
I was asked on to comment on this story about romance being dead.
All was going quite well until I was asked what I thought of a listener’s advice on keeping the magic alive in a marriage.
Oh dear. I mistook her comment ‘ never go to bed in a huff’ for ‘never go to bed in the BUFF’.
As the studio dissolved in laughter, I was cut off. (Which I think was my phone battery not the Director General.)
Just call me Bridget Jones.

LOL.But they all laughed. That’s got to be good
Phillipa Says:
You’re all very generous. I wish I hadn’t got cut off as it was funny. It was on the Simon Hoban evening news at about 1645 – I never dare listen again to what I say on the radio!

I would have loved to have heard your interview, it sounds brilliant.
Charlotte Says:
Cut off before you got going!
Phillipa Says:
Yes Cut off in my prime – thank goodness!
Christina Phillips Says:
LOL! Sounds like it was fun interview!
Liz Says:
So what advice were you about to give before you were cut off? Romance writers want to know!
Phillipa Says:
Liz – nothing earth shattering. Just the ususal suspects: being considerate to each other, making an effort etc. I did say there were often knickers all over the floor in our house and that I sat around in my pyjamas without make up even more these days but we were still married!
