I’ve got an article about Whores and Heroes at Romancing the Blog today. I’m not sure if anyone will read it or comment as I reckon 99.99999% of the readers don’t have a clue who I am! Still, I did manage to get the word ‘knickers’ into the article.

Did anyone watch the new series of Mistresses last night? This sexy relationship drama is meant to be the BBC’s answer to SATC. I don’t know, as I’ve only ever seen one ep of SATC and didn’t really enjoy it.
What I do know is never in the field of UK TV drama have there been so many attractive men to suit all demographics in one series. Here are some of them:

Simon

Jack (Consultant surgeon)

Mark (‘Playboy’)

Dominic (lawyer)

Dan (heart surgeon)

Hari (husband)
You can tell I don’t have a book to write!

After my motivational lunch with Nell and Liz last Monday, I finished my revised ms for IMP yesterday. I’m having the morning off to take my mum for a slap-up lunch at Marks & Spencer on the retail park.
It was her birthday last week and we gave her some vouchers – nothing lights up Grandma Bennet’s face like an M&S voucher!

Mr B gave me the Everyman Book Of Love Stories on Valentine’s Day, which I now have time to really enjoy. I read a disturbing and compelling story about jealousy and obsession by Margaret Attwood (at least, I think it was about jealousy and obsession…)
The day was made by my author copy of It Should Have Been Me arriving – and yes, I was very excited as usual. My mum is reading it now. She is always the first ‘real’ person to read it. I await her verdict with interest especially as she normally only ever reads sagas!

Suggest you watch this BBC 2 programme on book marketing and publishing industry if you’re a writer or just interested in books.
Meanwhile, no blogging or surfing for me. I am so close to finishing my revisions for deadline Monday – but so close isn’t close enough!
I’m on Three Counties Radio around 1-1.30pm, talking about Valentine’s Day.

I had a lovely writerly lunch with Liz and Nell today. Not only were they cracking company but their encouragement and advice and a chat with my indefatigable agent has led to me resuming my edits on It’s My Party again, with renewed enthusiasm. I’m probably much closer than I thought to finishing it, I’d just lost my way.
Even when you’re published, finihsing a book is hard – it’s just as hard as ever before, except perhaps you have more access to expert opinion.
But it is as hard to finish, and I suspect it always will be because (I hope) with each book, you try to write a bigger, better story and challenge yourself more.
