Well, I’m back again despite what I said, because I’ve had two reviews for It Should Have Been Me.
One is from I Love Fiction and the other from Single Titles.
I hope you’re having a relaxing Easter break. We have eaten far too many Easter eggs but the Rug Doctor arrives tomorrow to help us work off the calories!

Yes, I know I wasn’t going to post until after Easter but I just have to celebrate some tiny snippets of good news after last week’s cr*p news that I’d lost half the money I’d earned since Christmas when a client went bust.
1. I went to visit my Waterstones manager friend in Stafford yesterday and to my delight, she had a little display of my books on the shelf next to the best sellers. This is really sad but I took a picture. I signed some and she said people had been buying them. It still surprises me , in a good way of course.
2. I woke up this morning to find that It Should Have Been Me has made it to the top of the Little Black Dress chart. It’s been number two for weeks (erm… Jennifer Crusie was number one) but I think lots of people have been buying LBDs as Easter treats instead of chocolate.
3. There was a voucher for a free Cadbury’s Easter egg in today’s paper and Mr Bennet has gone to fetch it – and pay in a cheque from my other customer, who hasn’t gone bust.
See how I’ve leaned to appreciate the little things lately? Now if only the good vibes could continue…
Update: Just Say Yes has been reprinted and is now showing as available in a week on Amazon.

I’m signing off the blog for an extended Easter break. My latest ms has gone off to my agent and if/when I have any news about it, you’ll all be the first to know.
I feel calmer today, but I spent yesterday shouting, swearing and shedding a few tears as one of my business clients has filed for insolvency, owing me a good chunk of the cash I’ve earned from copywriting over the past five months. So it seems I’ve been working for nothing… it was the last straw to be honest and I flipped. My mum heard words from me she’s never heard before!
Easter will be spent at home with my family and the Rug Doctor (a carpet cleaning machine not a brooding, handsome medic bearing bleach.) It’s no coincidence that my agent’s coming to stay next week as she’s giving a talk at the local writers’ group. I’ve even ironed the linen on the spare bed in her honour. I hope she likes cuddly seals and Ty beanie babies…
Finally, if you want a smile and to find out how NOT to approach an agent/publisher, check out the winning entries in Nicola Morgan’s Cringeworthy Queries contest.
Have a lovely Easter break!

PS I was going to have a flutter on the Grand National and someone sent me a tip. It just has to be:
MY WILL
How could it have been anything else after he brought so much good fortune my way with Decent Exposure?
