Thank you
May 31, 2009 | 15 Comments
Just want to say thank you for all the emails, messages and posts I’ve had from friends, writers and RNA members. I still haven’t come down.
I realise I’ve had a massive stroke of luck and I’m incredibly thankful for it.
I’ll pass on any news that I can, when I hear it – and the next exciting thing is finding out who Will is.
We’re taking our parents for a pub lunch today to celebrate. My daughter finishes her finals next week and we’re going to see her next weekend for a post exam dinner.
In between all this, I’ve got real work and I really, really, have to find a way of concentrating somehow.
Hmm. It’s gonna be tricky…
My movie news
May 28, 2009 | 31 Comments
Well, I woke up to the shock of my life, literally, when I found out this morning that Fox has annouced that their adaptation of Decent Exposure is going to be its flagship Christmas movie on the Lifetime channel in December 2009.
It’s going to be called The Twelve Men of Christmas – great title – and is set in the Rocky Mountains.
There’s more news on quite a few entertainment sites but here’s a bit here :
Tony Award winner and Emmy nominee Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies) melts the holiday snow in Twelve Men of Christmas, an all-new Lifetime Original Movie set to premiere as part of the Network’s annual “Fa La La La Lifetime” programming event in December 2009. Based on the popular novel Decent Exposure by Phillipa Ashley, the romantic comedy tells the story of a down-on-her-luck public relations executive who uses her media savvy to generate some sizzle in a small Montana town. The casting announcement was made today by Tanya Lopez, Senior Vice President of Original Movies, Lifetime Networks.
I can’t describe how I felt when I saw this in my inbox. Thrilled and delighted don’t even come close! I’d honestly put this to the back of my mind as the most unlikely thing to happen.
I haven’t seen any of the lovely Kristin Chenoweth’s work ( mustbe the only person who hasn’t!) but I hear she’s gorgeous, hugely talented and very famous – so I’m off to order West Wing, Ugly Betty and Pushing Daisies from Amazon.
I just can’t believe this has happened and I really, really hope more good news follows it.
And I can’t wait to see who is cast as Will!
Good luck, Ms Bennet

This is a proud parental moment. I’m sending every good vibe in the world to my daughter, Ms Bennet, who is taking her final exams at university this week.
My daughter has worked hard for three years at uni and for many years at school to get where she wants to be and if she gets her grades, she’ll be off to another uni to do her PhD.
Apparently, cats are considered very lucky in Japan, as in many places in the world. Read the legend of Maneki Neko here and the story of the cat who saved a station here.
And good luck to all of you out there who are taking exams or waiting for results!

Should I be a writer?

Probably not ….but if you still want to do it you could do far worse than read this from Sophie Weston’s website.
Go to the Ask Away – Your books page.
We spent the weekend in Oxford and I got very excited when we saw this man waiting at a crossing.

It’s English actor, Tom Ward, from Silent Witness. I didn’t believe it was him until I looked him up on wiki and found out he lives in Oxford.
