“An utterly glorious, escapist read from a one of the freshest voices to emerge in women’s fiction today. I loved every gorgeous page.” – Claudia Carroll

“A deliciously entertaining twist on the Poldark tale.” – Liz Fenwick

“A glorious, tantalising taste of Cornwall, I could almost taste the salt of the sea air as I read it.” – Jules Wake

“Made me want to run away to the Cornish coast immediately! Lovely, romantic summery escapism. Loved it!” – Lorelei Mathias

“You can’t help but fall in love with the characters in this book. With its determined heroine and smouldering Poldark-alike this sweeping love story grips you and doesn’t let go until the very last page.” – Helen Cox

“Summer at the Cornish Cafe hooked me right from the start, I ended up reading it in a day as I couldn’t put it down. The first book in a very long time that has made me just curl up with a cuppa and lose myself in the pages. If you love Cornwall, you’ll love this book.” – A Cornish Mum

“Phillipa Ashley is without doubt a very accomplished writer and the picture she paints of St Trenyan enthrals the reader and makes you want to book your own holiday to Kilhallon Park. The story expertly switches between the two lead character viewpoints giving you both sides of the story. The backgrounds of the characters are beautifully told as the story that brings them together unfolds. Add in some wonderfully eccentric locals, the perfect modern villain in Mawgan Cade and a special little dog called Mitch and you have yourself a terrific cast. Summer at the Cornish Cafe is a perfect summer read for the beach wherever you take your holiday but chances are if you read this first you’ll want to be heading to Cornwall!” – Bella Osborne

Praise for Fever Cure

“Fever Cure is chilli hot, emotional and funny. A class act from Phillipa Ashley.”
– Liz Fielding – RITA Winner and Romantic Times ‘Love and Laughter Career Achievement Winner.

“Having been the first book I’ve read by this author, I have to say Ms. Ashley has done a superb job of crafting this novel. She has penned two amazing characters that have both been through terrible times in the past, one of which is still trying to find redemption by distancing themselves from others so they don’t find themselves in a relationship. I loved the dialogue, and the interfering secondary characters that thought Keira and Tom would be perfect for each other, so why not get them together. Sort of like the perfect blind date, if ever there’s such a thing. The sex scenes were scorching, even though they’re being together was only supposed to be a fling and love wasn’t in the cards, still it happened and was illustrated brilliantly through this author’s words”

Although it has the traditional romance plot, Ashley always adds more. In each of her novels I’ve learned something. She also perfectly captures setting- in this case Cornwall. But it was the hero of this novel who really captured my interest. She describes him so carefully and completely that it’s almost as if she had included illustrations.

This book is gorgeous, simply gorgeous. The holiday-romance settings are fabulous, so real you can sniff them in the breeze, and the central romance is utterly compelling. The hero, Jack, is all man but vulnerable undreneath, just the way you love ’em, and the heroine, Beth, is feisty and fresh and has real emotional depth. The ultimate holiday romance. You won’t be able to put it down.

When a nice girl asks twelve men to get naked, is it decent exposure or indecent exploitation?

Emma Tremayne has left her high-powered PR job and moved to the Lake District. She was expecting to find some much-needed peace and quiet, not to end up cavorting on a hillside with a naked guy…

Emma thinks she’s being community-minded when she agrees to help the local mountain rescue team put together a ‘tasteful’ nude calendar in order to fundraise for their new headquarters. Including the extremely handsome Mr July, Will, who appears to have got completely the wrong impression about Emma’s intentions. So how does she convince him that he’s more than just Flavour of the Month…?

Sassy, funny and smart, Decent Exposure is a gorgeous read from a sparkling new voice in romantic fiction.

Winner of the 2007 Romantic Novelists Association Joan Hessayon New Writers Award.

The judges had this to say about Decent Exposure:

“This book had really great characters right from the start, especially the fish-out-of-water heroine and the hero who is ‘always happiest when he’s got something to be angry about’. We believed in this couple and their bumpy path to love. There is a real sense of lives lived, the close-knit team, the local rivalries, the small village, as well as the practical and psychological obstacles in the way of pulling the calendar together. We liked the humour nicely balanced with humanity and a bright, contemporary voice. Oh, and it has a cracker of a first sentence!”

Reviews

A gripping read with misunderstandings all the way as the plot ducks and dives through agony and ecstasy.

This lovely, warm story is Phillipa Ashley’s debut novel. Emma is a likeable heroine and Ashley’s writing is deft, sexy and full of humour. The plot – city girl meets rugged and handsome outdoor guy – is sprinkled with twists and misunderstandings which keep you turning the pages.

Decent Exposure is a light romantic read for a rainy afternoon, with fabulous descriptions of life in a tight-knit Lake District community and a very sexy male lead.

A witty and engaging read with just the right mix of raunch and romance. A great way to while away a few hours on the beach or the sofa.
