Cut off in my prime…
October 14, 2006
Hi there
Got back from a week in the Lakes today to find BT had still not restored my broadband but had also cut off my phone line. So once again I am at the sports club writing this with a coffee. I’ve had a great week, walking, eating, drinking and chilling out. Thanks for all the lovely comments about Decent Exposure but I still haven’t seen one personally in the shops. However I do have a photo of the books at Ottakars Stafford with ‘Signed by The Author’ stickers on them. That is SO cool. 🙂 Thanks to Janice and her staff for the display and for not putting me next to the pop-up kama sutra…
I’m experiencing some of the highs and a few of the lows of being A Published Author at the moment. 99% of the time , you get nothing but goodwill but there are a few niggles (I nearly wrote knickers there). You often find that the badwill comes from sources with a hidden agenda. The great thing about being an author – or a writer – of any mkind – is that any experience – and the not-so-nice ones in particular – can all be stored and used in your writing. It is wonderful therapy! Being part of the RNA and romance writing community is also a great support. I’ve had some excellent and very useful advice throughout the process – one of the best being from a very ‘tender’ author who told me not to worry about anything before i was published as there was plenty to worry about afterwards! She was right but I still wouldn’t swap the job for the world (unless it contained Guy of Gisbourne in black leather).
I’m hoping to post some of the reviews from Amazon and C19 here and a pic of the book in situ as soon as I can.
Hi to all the people who helped me celebrate the launch, either physically or in cyber-space. And do visit Jess’s blog and Nell’s blogs – links opposite – to find out what they are up to right now.
