Hurrah!

October 15, 2006

About an hour ago (don’t hold your breath…) my broadband Internet connection was restored. I am very happy – in fact, far too happy. It set me thinking about just how much we rely on the Internet. I use it to run my copywriting business and also over the past 3 weeks I have been trying to organise the launch of Decent Exposure. With only dial-up on the laptop, that was difficult – without any Internet it was impossible.

But it is too late for us to go back now. Almost everyone depends on 24/7 Internet access. And you know what? Not being able to operate the business effectively was stressful but just as bad was losing the social interaction with my cyber friends and colleagues. I missed you C19ers, M&Pers and friends. Writing and being self employed are lonely existences. With a daughter just off to uni too, the whole combo was a pretty unpleasant.

Anyway – I really hope my broadband is back for good. Now I can post pics of the launch and the book and hunky blokes including Mr Bennet.

Love

PS Miss Bennet and her friends came across Pierce Brosnan in a punt in Oxford yesterday. Apparently he’s gorgeous and a lovely guy. A Great Big Thanks to the Fresher posse for this exclusive picture:Pierce
