RNA Party and preview clip of movie
November 20, 2009
I’m posting this from my daughter’s PC – the morning after the night before: the RNA Winter Party. I didn’t take any pictures because the whole night was a whirlwind. The party was packed – and I mean packed because there was a bumper attendance of 170 agents, editors and writers. That’s thanks to the success of the parties and the great organisation of Jan Jones.
It wasn’t a case of who was there – but who wasn’t!
It felt a bit like speed dating and I feel really guilty that I got about two minutes – or two seconds – with friends I’d wanted to have a proper chat with like Janet Gover (the new RNA Press Officer), Liz Fenwick, Julie Cohen, Allie Spencer, Catherine King and many more. I did manage to talk to Giselle Green, whose novel, Pandora’s Box won the 2008 NWS award and I shared a taxi and coffee with Lizzie Lamb and Margaret Kaine.
I got my two copies of Loves Me, Loves Me Not signed by Roger Sanderson, Jan Jones, Katie Fforde, Judy Astley, Sophie Weston, Evelyn Ryle, Janet Gover and more.
And I also managed to chat with new writers and several editors.
I remember the first RNA Party in May 2006 when I arrived, terrified, having only met my agent that evening. Last night, I had the opposite problem – but what a lovely problem. The moment I walked in, I saw so many familiar face. I just so wish there had been more time.
I’m going to have to go to the next meeting.., when my sore feet and sore throat, both self-inflicted, are better. 🙂
Finally, there’s now a You Tube Preview of 12 Men of Christmas which I haven’t posted – but I’m not complaining either.:)
Update: for RNA party pictures go here.
