Happy Red Nose Day aka Dawn snogs Hugh Grant

March 15, 2013

comic relief

It’s Comic Relief aka Red Nose Day in the UK, so if you’re doing something funny for money, hope you have a very succesful day.

You can find out more about Comic Relief HERE – Comic Relief is a major charity based in the UK which strives to create a just world free from poverty.

I’ll be glued to the BBC Comic Relief fundraising show tonight but I don’t think there will ever be a moment to rival Dawn French’s snog with Hugh Grant, which raised £1 million.

Happy Friday and a fab review for Miranda’s Mount

March 8, 2013

serendipityreviewsheader

It seems like ages since I blogged – because it is ages. My excuse is that I’ve been snowed under with my commercial writing work. I have managed to write 4000 words of Project X #2 but I need to get going again next week when I’ve finished this big copywriting project.

Girl vs Earl, the US edition of Miranda’s Mount, is being formatted for Kindle US and B&N Nook, and should be available by the end of March. I hope so, as I have reviewers and blog posts lined up.

I’ve also sent the cover art and copy forms back to Samhain for my hot and steamy Natasha Bond novel which has now been brought forward to September. I’ll blog more about this process later but part of it involves scouring the web for pictures of hot men who would suit your hero. 🙂

But first I will have It Happened One Night, my mainstream rom com with Pitakus Entice on June 3rd.

I’ve ended the week on a definite high note with THIS fantastic review for Miranda’s Mount from Serendipity Reviews who said:

This is a delightful, easy going read that will absorb your imagination and transport you to the sunny summery shores of Cornwall.

Girl vs Earl… coming in March to the Amazon US and Nook

February 19, 2013

GirlvsEarl 200x300

I’m delighted to share the ebook cover of GIRL VS EARL – the US edition of Miranda’s Mount which will be available on Amazon Kindle USA and B&N Nook in March, fingers crossed.

I kept the US rights to this novel, and so I’ve decided to make it my first independent publishing venture. I am no designer and the Kindle formatting sounded scary as hell, so I’ve employed ‘professionals.’ 🙂

The talented Elena from For The Muse Designs did the gorgeous cover which features the actual St Michael’s Mount island castle that inspired the setting.

I’ll be doing a mini US blog tour when Girl vs Earl launches. Thank you to all of you who have already bought Miranda’s Mount in the US by the way. Please don’t buy this one as well by mistake. 🙂

Anywhere outside the US, you’ll still need to download Miranda’s Mount.

Snow, snow, quick, quick snow…

January 21, 2013

My garden at sunrise

My garden at sunrise

I’m looking out of my window over fields covered in 6 inches of snow. That might not sound much to those of you in Northern climes but here? It’s enough to bring the world grinding to a halt. If I can make it to the end of our road, I should be OK on the main routes as I *have* to get out today.

Wish me luck!

On the upside, did you know we now have 51 more minutes of daylight today than on Dec 21st? No.. well, I cling to this geeky site when the long gloomy nights get too much for me.

None of this is any help, if you’re sweltering in an Australian summer, is it? Stay safe, if you’re caught up in the heatwaves down under.

The snow has helped me keep my bum in my chair and hands glued to the keyboard. As a result, the first draft of Project X (hopefully to be published in October 2013) is done and being ruthlessly edited.

The proofs for my June 2013 romance, It Happened One Night, have also arrived – very exciting as it’s the first time I get to see my book, looking like a book (just to confuse you, the proofs are hard copies but this going to be an e book.)

So, it’s back to the editing for now before I start digging my way out of the snow. 🙂
