Reviews…
October 27, 2006
I’m feeling happy this morning. The caffeine helps and my daughter’s coming home from uni for the weekend. After a bit of a ‘mare of a week, I’ve had a great feature and review in the Books section in the Birmingham Post which is a big and serious regional broadsheet. I have also some fun reviews on Amazon. It’s always scary pushing your baby out there in the big world (and it’s happened twice this month). But glad to hear that so many people are enjoying it. What’s most fascinating is when someone really likes the book – but for reasons I had never spotted! I had a shock to find my face grinning out at me and may post it after the 9pm watershed. But here’s the review…:)
“It’s so well written it carries you along and proves a gripping read with misunderstandings all the way as the plot ducks and dives through agony and ecstasy. This is definitely a book for women who hanker after falling into the arms of knights on white chargers coming to their rescue. It even reminds me of Georgette Heyer’s regency romances.”
Thanks for letting me post that. I needed it.

Wow, that’s a great review – especially the GH comparision!! Btw, I adore your blog and website – it’s soooo funky!

Amanda, Michelle, RT – I was *amazed* and blushing at the GH ref. I’ve never read any GH but I bet the great lady would be horrified. I think the journalist meant that it was quite a bodice-ripping romance in respect of some very bad behaviour and quite macho stuff from the hero (fair enough – he IS in a mountain rescue team and I have experienced at first hand the amazing things these guys and girls have to do). Except it’s thong-ripping, rather than bodice ripping and the hero drives off brooding in a Range Rover rather than on a white horse, listening to Meat Loaf!

PS – Amanda glad you liked the site. It was done by Swank who designed Julie C’s and Michelle W’s sites.
