Calm…
January 9, 2007
I’m in sore need of calming thoughts at the moment, for a variety of reasons. So I’ve decided to post some pics of a place I go to that almost always makes me feel soothed.
My daughter’s not well again and has to go back to uni this week (not the way she is, I hope.) Other *stuff* is going on that won’t be resolved for a few weeks and I also had aone of the vilest, most disturbing dreams ever. Ms B reckons it was just a horrible metaphor for some unresolved business or it could be hormones I s’pose.
In the meantime, a client told me they loved my techie website copy this morning and I managed to get the words ‘Peter Schmeichel’ and the phrases ‘You dirty girl. Put a pound in the swear box,’ and ‘IT infrastructure and client emulation’ into my writings today.
Anyway, here’s the lakes in early October and mid-December. Enjoy. First off a walk in Eskdale. Moira, if you’re looking, in this is where Mr B disappeared to while we had our cakes and tea.
Second is Grasmere, December 2006.
Hope you feel more chilled, as I do now.

Pip
Have this big bunch of hugs and squidge them as hard as necessary – hope your bad patch passes quick.
I LOVE those pics. Want to go NOW. jx

Sorry to hear you’re feeling low, Phillipa. Sending you loads of calm from Down Under. But I’m not sure we have anything quite so beautiful as the Lakes District. Those photos are gorgeous. I want to be there too.

Gorgeous… 🙂
*HUGS* Pip. Hope things get better ASAP. I had a horrid dream last night too. Dinosaurs loose on earth and everybody (including my family) had crammed into an airport to try and get away, but there were about ten dinosaurs locked in there too. Yuk.

Hugs, but ohhh those pictures are GORGEOUS. Wow.

Hi. Thanks so much for the hugs. I’ve had three months winter in the RevCave and now have a big silver bucket and also a heavy dose of the ‘I got in by mistake’ jitters. I just got back from the doc’s. My daughter (19) has sinusitis and a ‘glandular fever’ *type* illness which probably, thank goodness, isn’t GF. But she’s been told she can’t go back to college yet and is very disappointed. She’s also been prescribed ice lollies for her sore throat as well as anti-bios so ‘mum went to Iceland’. (It’s an ad slogan here in the UK for a well-known frozen food store).
Jess – The dream was baby-related so you and Jude do not want to know about it right now! It’s either a metaphor or the result of watching ER the other night. I’d much rather have dinosaurs.
Barb – I’m sure you have some truly amazing places in Oz and on a huge scale. The lakes are beautiful but very tiny. I’d love to come over one day, maybe next year. Also got Canada on the list. One day…
Love, P x

Sending more hugs your way, Pip. Hope you and your daughter are both feeling better soon.
Jessica Raymond Says:
Glad you now know what’s wrong, Pip. *Hugs* for DD and hope she gets better soon.
I did watch ER the other night but The Bloke stuck a hand in front of my face at all the “operation” bits.

Phillipa, It would be wonderful if you came to Australia next year. Think about coming in August when we have our annual conference. Our conferences are fabulous! Ask Jenny Haddon.
The conference is in Melbourne next year. And before or after, you can head north to the best part of Oz. 🙂

Oh…Barb. Don’t tempt me. It’s our 20th wedding aniversary this April and we keep trying to plan a special holiday – our first alone together since our ahem… honeymoon. But with uni fees, it’s a bit tricky right now. Then again, I keep looking on the Virgin travel website. Trouble is I don’t know where to start as Oz is so HUGE, 🙂
