Library events and a meeting with The Doctor

August 26, 2008

I’m having a week of library events starting on Saturday August 30 at 11am when I’ve been asked to ‘relaunch’ Burntwood library in Staffordshire. The library is 21 years old this month – and so is my daughter in two weeks time.

I’ve got to make a short speech and cut a special celebratory cake. I’ve never been asked to do a civic duty before but I am honoured! And it’s an excuse to have my hair done and wear a frock on a Saturday morning.

Then I’m doing two events with LBD author, Nell Dixon. We’ll be chatting about our work and giving writing tips.

Wombourne Library 3/9/08 – 7.15 pm

Burntwood Library 11/9/08 – 2pm (TBC)

We’d love to see you if you can make it to any of these events.

Finally, the bank holiday weekend wasn’t all work. Look who I bumped into at the health club. 🙂

Nice to see he’s keeping lovely and fit. Oh and you too, of course. 😉

  2. Charlotte Says:

Oh, I got all excited and thought you really HAD met him for a minute there 🙁

  3. Phillipa Says:

Charlotte – do you not think you’d be the first to know? I did try, darling…

Julie – I would have got his galactic autograph for you too. 🙂

  4. Vikki Tittley Says:

is there a picture? I can’t see anything. I’m at work, wonder if that is why

  5. Phillipa Says:

Vikki – there’s a camera phone pic but don’t get to excited! Are you blocked from parts of the web at work? 🙂

  6. Vikki Tittley Says:

must be, I can see it fine at home. How can you not get excited, even it is “only” a pic of Mr Tennant himself *sigh*

  7. Phillipa Says:

Vikki – I like Mr T but he doesn’make me go thud like some other people I could mention. I mainly snapped him for Julie Cohen!

  8. Kate Hammond Says:

my son would go absolutely bananas to have that in his bedroom!….saying that, i wouldn’t mind either.

i’m going to miss stalking…er i mean casually looking out for mr tennant around cardiff when he regenerates…!

  9. Phillipa Says:

Julie C told me you can buy these cut-outs and John Simm from Life on Mars in Toys R US, Kate. 🙂

  10. Kate Hammond Says:
