Mother’s Day pleasures

March 23, 2009

Well, I had a very happy and relaxing Mother’s Day. The three of us went for a ‘posh’ picnic (prepared by Mr B) at Hanbury Hall in Worcestershire – complete with some roses and a mini bottle of Cava for me. Miss B bought me a DVD of the 2000 adaptation of Lorna Doone. What a brilliant romantic adventure it is, especially with Richard Coyle as John Ridd and a magnificent cast of evil, brooding Doones.

Now I’m in the office with the newly discovered joy of Real Work (The Credit Crunch has made me appreciate a lot of things I used to take for granted) and a book that’s very close to being finished. Again. 🙂

I thought LD was one of the best period dramas ever. They don’t write em or make like that any more.

P, I agree about that adapation of LD – it was great. Glad you had a lovely mother’s day. LOL, if I’d known you were going to call in at my place for a picnic, I’d have wafted down the painted staircase to meet you ;0) *g*

Liz. LOL. I did mention to Mr and Ms B that the house was named after your family…
