My movie news
May 28, 2009
Well, I woke up to the shock of my life, literally, when I found out this morning that Fox has annouced that their adaptation of Decent Exposure is going to be its flagship Christmas movie on the Lifetime channel in December 2009.
It’s going to be called The Twelve Men of Christmas – great title – and is set in the Rocky Mountains.
There’s more news on quite a few entertainment sites but here’s a bit here :
Tony Award winner and Emmy nominee Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies) melts the holiday snow in Twelve Men of Christmas, an all-new Lifetime Original Movie set to premiere as part of the Network’s annual “Fa La La La Lifetime” programming event in December 2009. Based on the popular novel Decent Exposure by Phillipa Ashley, the romantic comedy tells the story of a down-on-her-luck public relations executive who uses her media savvy to generate some sizzle in a small Montana town. The casting announcement was made today by Tanya Lopez, Senior Vice President of Original Movies, Lifetime Networks.
I can’t describe how I felt when I saw this in my inbox. Thrilled and delighted don’t even come close! I’d honestly put this to the back of my mind as the most unlikely thing to happen.
I haven’t seen any of the lovely Kristin Chenoweth’s work ( mustbe the only person who hasn’t!) but I hear she’s gorgeous, hugely talented and very famous – so I’m off to order West Wing, Ugly Betty and Pushing Daisies from Amazon.
I just can’t believe this has happened and I really, really hope more good news follows it.
And I can’t wait to see who is cast as Will!

I’m a fan of miss Chenoweth’s, but I’ve ordered your book just now (and googling it, I have yet to read an unflattering review of it) and I look forward to immersing myself in it on a Spanish beach.
I like to think that all you really need to know about the Cheno is in this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWzewHTcHew
Best thing about her really is that she’s just so alive and real on screen, but yet a brilliant, brilliant comedic actress. I think it’s in good hands 😉
Good luck!
Phillipa Says:
Thanks Linn – hope you enjoy the book. Yes, I’ve now seen some of KC’s work and I think she is stupendously talented and will be perfect.
