Twitter, fanfic and Twelve Men news
September 4, 2010
Well, I finally gave in and joined Twitter.
I’m not totally sure why I joined! If I was a whizz-bang, hot shot promotional guru, I’d say it was to share the latest updates and news on my new releases as they happen.
But I’m very much a quivering Twitter virgin, just feeling my way round the Twittersphere (and just what exactly is a re-tweet or a Tweep?)
If you want to help me settle in or Tweet me, you’ll find me at www.twitter.com/PhillipaAshley
Or Click on the Twitter link on the home page of my website.
It’s been a very entertaining week. First, I’ve got some news for those of you desperate to see 12 Men of Christmas,What I can tell you – right now- is that the movie is airing on Showtime Australia in November. Click here for times.
I’ve also had the very bizarre experience of reading some fanfic of both 12 Men of Christmas and Decent Exposure on the web. It’s kind of flattering but also a bit surreal. I started off writing fanfic …now I see fanfic of my books and fanfic of the movie of my books …. how weird is that?
Finally, there’s a fan video of 12 Men on You Tube that I loved. All I’ll say to the fans of the movie is – please read the original book: it’s available almost everywhere in the world by some means or other, so give it a try, you might like it!
PS There’s still time to enter Christina’s contest to win a copy of the fantastic Forbidden but the clock is ticking. Add your comment to the post below.:)
Rachel Lyndhurst Says:
Trying to follow you on Twitter, Phillipa, but they’re not making it easy to find you. Will persist, my dear!
Lots of love,
Rach.

Annalynn Says:
This video is incredible! What an honor. Such a shame there is no high-res DVD out yet… sigh… I’ll have to find the fanfic and read it, too. What fun!
And yes, its definitely a surreal, post-modern moment.
Debs Says:
I love this video and have to admit that Decent Exposure is one of the few books I’ve kept to re-read I love it so much.
Nell Dixon Says:
I think it’s just so fab! you are such a star!
Phillipa Says:
Rachel – i think we’re now mutual followers. 🙂
Annalynn – maybe not long to wait…
Debs and Nell: thanks but I’ve largely just been very very lukcy. 😉
Jon Says:
Needless to say, I am giggling at the video. I only wish we could show the bits they made us cut out of the movie.
