Back from a desert island
July 9, 2011
…well, not quite a desert island but …we’ve just got back from a tiny Spanish island called Formentera which has beaches to-die-for and lots of Italians, lizards and naturists… oh yes, I’ve had an education. It was great for research and inspiration (and a lot of amusing moments, too, although I didn’t know where to look at times.)
The highlights included cycling to an almost deserted beach at sunset after everyone had left and enjoying a Champagne picnic. We rode back via the salt lakes.
Hiring bikes was a great eco-friendly and cheap way of getting around the mostlt flat landscape which is linked by car-free ‘green routes’ that enable you to really see and experience the countryside and wildlife. I’m definitely inspired to set a book there as the island has a contrast of ‘hippy,’ rural and very glamorous cultures.
We’d booked this special holiday last summer, before I knew I’d have two books out back to back – and it was a very relaxing way to mark the start of launch week for Fever Cure on Tuesday July 12th.
I’ll be back with more about that but until then, hope you enjoy some photos. There are lots more on my Facebook page.
And here’s the White Stuff maxi dress I was wondering whether to buy or not – I wore it three times as it happens. Now all we need is red hot, balmy nights in the UK and it might get another airing.
Look forward to seeing you all at the launch party here on Tuesday.
