The Kindle has landed
July 29, 2011
My family got me a Kindle for my birthday – with 3G, a smart blue leather cover and a light.
It’s like reading a real book – except not like reading a book. It’s just …different and amazing and very very dangerous. It is *so* easy to press a button and buy a book. Instant gratification!
I immediately went to amazon.co.uk and downloaded three free books: after all, I decided, people have been downloading my free book so here’s my chance to get a piece of the action.
My first three downloads are:
Wild Justice by Liz Fielding
Chase Brothers by Lauren Dane
Great American Road Trips – a Lonely Planet mini guide
Today, I’m going to meet Ms B and some Texan friends from C19. But here’s an example of my mum’s creative gift wrapping, with flowers from her garden:
Stevie Carroll Says:
Hurrah for the Kindle. One day I’ll get a proper eReader too.
I like the door sign and the creative wrapping
Michelle Styles Says:
I love my kindle. I have a pink cover.
the best thing is the free sample downloads. It has allowed me to try a number of different authors, ones I had heard about and thought — well maybe.
It is a tiny bit dangerous though…so easy to buy more books.
It is good that you had a great birthday.
Rosy Thornton Says:
Oh dear, I fear I do need to get one…
Jinky Says:
I’m giddy with joy that you stopped by my blog!! Thank you. I really enjoyed reading Wish You Were Here. –Enjoy your Kindle ..I haven’t gotten into ereaders yet ..some day.
Phillipa Says:
Hi Stevie, Michelle and Rosy – have finished Wild Justice now onto Chase. Keep being tempted by new books on Amazon…
Junky – I’m thrilled you read WYWH and enjoyed it. paperbacks are still so lovely though – mini works of art. 🙂
