A picture paints a thousand words…

June 2, 2007

Gulp. The photos of the Summer Party and presentation of the Joan Hessayon award are on the RNA site. I hope no one minds me posting one or two here – it’s courtesy of the RNA. I think the ace Jan Jones (winner of the 2005 award) took them so thank you, Jan.;)

For more pics and info, visit the RNA and/or the blog of Fiona Harper who has a scurrilous item of gossip about a curry.

I just got home from my hol in Wales and saw the news!!!! I am so thrilled for you! Yay! I was hoping for you, Jess, Judy or Anna. We have got to have that coffee and cake meeting again soon to celebrate!

  2. Fiona Harper Says:

Hi, Philllipa! Congrats again. I shall be sending my photos to you soon. The one huge bonus of passing the award on to you is that the *awful* photo of me has disappeared from the website. Yay!

  3. Phillipa Says:

Fiona – I won’t allow you say that but I will say this: that new one of you is lovely. Even Mr Bennet remarked: ‘that lady who won last year had a nice dress on’. High praise from a straight guy… I think he may be teased somewhat by our friends: he is a member of the IMechE and has ended up on the RNA website. I am not sure Miss B will think it devastatingly cool either – that’s why I haven’t posted it here, to protect the ‘innocent’.

I have to add that I was so engrossed in talking to Fiona that I nearly didn’t make the line-up.

  4. Jessica Raymond Says:

Yay, I’ve been waiting to see pics!! LOVE your dress, Pip 🙂

Coming in late to offer my congrats, Phillipa. How fabulous! And so deserved.
I love the photos. Please forgive my saying so, but you all look so wonderfully British. I mean that in the nicest possible way. I might be an Aussie, but I’m also an Anglophile.
And I agree with everyone else. Your dress is lovely!

    Barb xx

LOL, Barbara. It’s our frocks, I guess and the looks of trepidation at being thrust in the spotlight. Everyone looked lovely – that’s Anna next to me (right) in a glamorous black dress and Jean Fullerton (extreme right) in a nautical jacket which I thought was very appropriate for her pirate romance. My dress was from Laura Ashley, quel surprise!

LOVE the curry story, Phillipa! Such corruption….
