I’m on Radio 5Live
February 7, 2008
Um…. I’m going to be a guest on the Richard Bacon show on BBC Radio 5 Live on February 14th at 11pm – yes, at night – speaking up in defence of Valentine’s Day.
You can take part in the programme and fill in a Love Survey here – and do post any ideas of what you think about Valentine’s Day. You can listen in on the web and phone in with your views. Or email me if you’ve any Valentine’s Day related anecdotes you want to share.
You can also email the show.
Personally, I love the whole cheesy, romantic idea!
BBC 5 Live is possibly the UK’s most listened-to talk/sport radio station and is broadcast nationwide. Me? Scared? Nah… (I’m off to get the Bach Rescue Remedy now.)
PS And please keep the quiz entries coming!

I love valentines Day but the best Valentine story has nothing to do with me but I in uni and a friend re ceived a mars bar and one red rose (and she was thrilled) but that was to throw her off the scent of what he really had planned – a speciall meal that he had cooked himself with bubbly etc. I thought it was so lovely because we were all broke 🙂
liz Says:
Forgot to say I will be thinking of you 🙂
Debs Says:
Best of luck with the radio show. I always end up getting chocolates for the children as well as something for R and they love any excuse for having a surprise.
There’s an award for you over at mine by the way.

Charlotte Says:
I think a lot of single people are creating their own Valentine’s traditions – my friends and I are having a girly evening out of cocktails, dinner and dancing – there’s certainly no reason to be depressed by Valentine’s day if you’re single!
Charlotte Says:
Ooh, and I remember thinking Richard Bacon was a very cute Blue Peter presenter before he did naughty things…
MaudBloggs Says:
Good luck for the big day.
I am usually in bed at 11pm (alone) and this is so sad on Valentines Day.
It would be nice to think that someone between now and then will whisk me off my feet and have their wicked way with me, but I wont hold my breath.
The object of my affections doesn’t feel the same way -unrequited love *sobs into tissue*.
I like Valentines day (not only because it is my birthday) but it is a day to show your loved one/ones that you care.
Good luck again, I am sure you’ll be great (Terry Wogan eat your heart out).
Phillipa Says:
Liz, Debs, Charlotte – thanks for the thumbs up and Maud – wow. Thanks for posting on the blog and I hope that special someone will whisk you off your feet and have their wicked way with you!
Rosy Thornton Says:
Best of luck, Phillipa, and many congrrats on landing the gig. You’ll be a blast!

Maddie Moon Says:
How exciting, Phillipa! Good luck. I’ll try to tune in unless, of course, I’m being wooed and wined somewhere.
Sally Lawton Says:
Good luck on the show Phillipa, I’ll be tuning in 🙂
MaudBloggs Says:
Just thought of something.
Last year my sister sent me a huge (and I mean huge) basket of flowers. It was full of roses, carnations lilies etc. But because it was Valentines Day the cost of these flowers doubled. If only my mother had hung on a few more hours when she was in labour.
Phillipa Says:
Thanks Maud, Sally, Maddie and Rosy. 🙂
Steph Says:
Hi Pip,
Good luck on the show, I’m sure you’ll be great! I’m hoping to be in bed by then but I hope you’ll be on Listen Again.
I’m a sucker for Valentine’s day but I wish the cards weren’t all so pink – what TDH man worth his salt wants something with sparkly hearts all over it?
Phillipa Says:
Steph – You can listen again and I would be no means suspend any pleasure of yours.
Guess who said that?
