Pure Passion and Mr Bennet

February 20, 2008

Today, my husband, the esteemed Mr Bennet, celebrates his birthday. It’s not a ‘milestone’ birthday but it is half way. So far, all he has had from me is a whimpered, “Happy Birthday, love” as he hunted for a pair of matching socks in the early morning gloom.

Tonight, I shall be cooking him a nice meal. And not just any meal. An M&S meal.

Later this afternoon, I’m going to act the part of the romance novelist and have my nails done. Tomorrow is the Pure Passion Awards at Manchester Town Hall and I’m staying overnight (in a hotel, not in the town hall itself, of course). The building looks very grand, apparently it’s a superb example of Victorian Gothic Revival. It often doubles as the Palace of Westminster in TV films and movies. I can’t wait to see it filled with romantic novelists and librarians.

When you say cooking an M&S meal do you actually mean cooking or just showing it the inside of a microwave oven?
I cook, under but only under duress (basically if I don’t cook the kids starve) but I hate it.
I can cook, I made and iced my own wedding cake (perhaps that is the reason for my divorce).

Have a wonderful time tonight and an even better time tomorrow.x

Putting it in the fan oven, Maud, followed by taking the M&S creme brulee out of the fridge and putting them undr the grill!

    Thanks Maud. P x

Thanks everyone – I’m going to have a lovely time meeting up with um ‘proper’ authors. (Only joking …I’m nearly a proper author now.) LOL

Happy Birthday to Mr. Bennet and good luck with the award Phillipa. I wish we had M&S here in Oz. Would be a lot kinder on the budget than the restaurant I took E and family to for his b’day dinner last week.
And I am so impressed that you are almost a proper author.
After 27 M&Bs, my mum still wants me to write a real book.
