Arr! I be back again.

Sorry but I’ve been talking like pirate ever since Facebook offered Pirate English. We’ve also just got back from a week in Salcombe, a stunning part of South Devon and a former haunt of smugglers and brigands. We like to have a family week by the sea before Ms B returns to uni and it was such a beautiful area that I got tons of inspiration for future books.

We stayed in a glorious apartment overlooking the Salcombe estuary and I finished my edits for ISHBM while I was there. This is the view.

We also had lovely late summer weather and even spent a day on the beach.

Now I only have to do the acknowledgements for ISHBM which, I feel, is one of the most fun parts of the book. I get a bit slushy when I write them, thinking of the friends and family who helped me through – and knowing the book has finally been put to bed for good. This last one has taken seven months of blood, sweat and tears but now I juist can’t wait for it to be published. Dare I say, that it’s my favourite? I am dying to know what you think in March.

I also carried on working on my new project whch I’ve nicknamed The Bonkbuster in between the cream teas and cafe lunches. Despite loads of walking, I’ve put on 3lbs so next week, when Ms B goes back to uni, it’s the gym and Ryvita every day!

   I love Salcombe and went there with my ex-husband many moons ago. It really is a pretty place and I’m not surprised you found it so inspirational.

   I love Salcombe too.We used to visit it & Dartmouth every year with OH’s Diving Club.I have to admit,I prefer Devon over Cornwall.
   Glad you had a good time as a family & that the weather behaved itself

   I just love Devon and Cornwall – can’t decide between the two so will have explore some more. 🙂
