It’s MY party
January 6, 2009
I just sent my latest book to my agent!
It’s called It’s My Party and is set in the Lake District. Now I only have to await my agent’s feedback. She always tells it like it is – in a polite, gentle and upbeat way – so I know I can rely on her. She loved the first quarter so I hope she enjoys the rest as much, but as usual, I will be a quivering jelly until I’ve heard from her.
I now have lots of real work to do and my back is sore from sitting here editing solidly since New Year’s Day – including all day Saturday and Sunday. I’m off to the gym as a treat (yes, I know, that’s sad) in a couple of hours. I go to save my back, my waistline and my mental health… and for the Costa coffee they serve in the bar. They also have all the newspapers which is bliss.
Tomorrow, as well as working, I’m going to read other people’s books (starting with Janet Gover, Jill Mansell and Christina Jones) and look up friends for coffee for next week when Miss Bennet goes back to uni.
Update: it’s turning into a good day. 🙂 I just had an email from the PLR. My library loans for DE and WYWH have all added up – I can’t believe how many times they’ve been borrowed and while I won’t get rich, the PLR sum was way more than I’d expected! I love libraries.

Well done! It’s double edged sword sending something off isn’t it?
Enjoy the gym, and the catching up and spending the PLR dosh 🙂
Nell Dixon Says:
I’m sure the book will be fab! And yay on PLR – I love libraries too.
Rosy Thornton Says:
Congratulations!! And I really hope she’ll love the completed thing – as she loved it at the earlier stages.

Well done, P – I’m sure your editor will love it!

I have every appendage crossed and this is only the first hurdle. However I feel in uncharacteristically positive mood right now 🙂
