I must stop dabbling
January 9, 2009
Well, I’ve lasted two days without dabbling with a new book. I’m supposed to be having a ‘rest’ i.e. only do real work but the new idea is calling me. I’ve started to do some research and brainstorm the plot/characters – and accidentally ended up writing the first 1300 words.
I must not write fiction. I must not write fiction. I must not write fiction…
For those of you who do want to write fiction, here’s an excellent new blog called Strictly Writing set up by a group of UK published and unpublished writers. The first two articles have lots of food for thought on the topic of The Slush Pile and Learning to Love Your Voice.

I keep trying to stay away but I do at least, need to *think* about Book 2 (Book 7 actually, in four years. I have NO idea how that happened!)
