Red carpet report from Baftas
April 27, 2009
It was the BAFTAs last night and a group of ladies from my Internet North & South/creative writing group managed to get tickets to the red carpet when the stars arrived.
They took some fantastic pictures of celebs arriving and PG at RAC has very generously allowed me to use some of her Richard Armitage pics on my blog.
If you don’t know the story yet, I started writing fiction after watching a BBC drama called North & South in November 2004. Richard played the hero, John Thornton.
After the show finished, I joined an Internet fansite called C19. Some of us started writing N&S inspired fanfiction and original work. We shared our stories on the creative writing section of the messageboard (are you following this?).
Many people (including me) had never writen a word of fiction before seeing N&S. The board encouraged us to keep on writing and submit our work to agents and editors.
Now, four of us are in print (Juliet Archer, Rosy Thornton, Elizabeth Hanbury and me) with several more on the way very soon, so I hear. 🙂 What’s more, we’re all members of the Romantic Novelists Association!
Thank you PG for sharing.

SIGH! Thanks for those. Wasn’t he wonderful?
Now (after this sneaky peek into blogland) I’ve got to somehow focus on my spreadsheets. Serves me right for peeking in the first place.
Tam Says:
Ooooh, gorgeous! I so very definitely would, you know.

It is brilliant that the writers/adapters of North and South have made such a difference to people’s lives. What stars you all are!
