Am I cr*p? Should I just give up?
November 4, 2009
No. Not me – (not today anyway.)
“Am I crap? Should I give up?’ is a question asked by many writers as witnessed by this thought-provoking post from Nicola Morgan.
In days when I’m being generous to myself, I think that a healthy dose of ‘am I crap at writing?’ is a good thing. I think the tension created by asking yourself ‘is this good enough?’ means you’re moving on in your writing and that you care.
As long as you don’t give up writing altogether…

I know that feeling only too well. Off to read Nicola’s post.
Liz Fielding Says:
I ask myself that every single day until my editor says otherwise. Then I start again with the next book. 🙂

The key word there is ‘editor’ Liz…. it always helps…

Jude, Liz, DEbs – I get that feeling on a daily basis. It never goes away and you just get new ways to feel cr*P.
Tam Says:
I think everyone feels like that – it’s what you do with the feeling that counts 🙂
Phillipa Says:
Tam – feel the fear and do it anyway?
