From Russia With Love
January 11, 2011
I’m still writing furiously, spurred on by a writerly meeting with the Coffee Crew yesterday. Liz and Nell – you rock!
But in the meantime, I just have to share the cover of the Russian edition of It Should Have Been Me. I’m told that the title in Russian means Amazing Man
It’s so romantic and retro, it makes me smile whenever I look at it – like a 1950s movie poster. The hero and heroine are also uncannily accurate to the description in the book, apart, perhaps, from Matt’s suede waistcoat 🙂 I don’t think that the translator/designer can have known that the hero was based on Richard Armitage – so it’s brilliant the that gorgeous TDH man on the front comes so close.
One or two people also think the cover hero looks like a young Dirk Bogarde. What do you think?
PS I can see from my stats, I’ve got some Russian visitors so here’s the blurb (I hope!)

Phillipa Says:
Rachel – that blouse is from Versace’s 2012 Spring collection. You can’t get it the shops yet, dahling, sorry.
Rachel Lyndhurst Says:
Bah! I knew it would be something like that. Poo.

Debs Carr Says:
It’s gorgeous and he could pass for a young Dirk Bogard, I think.
Phillipa Says:
Dirk’s on TV in a Doctor film this afternoon. What a shame I have to work. 🙂
Nell Dixon Says:
Gorgeous cover – so romantic
