Manic Thursday…

February 17, 2011

This week has turned out to be manic.

On Monday, we announced the launch of Brief Encounters – our brand new short story collection. Lots of writer friends had debut novels out so it was fun to support them too. In the evening, I ‘cooked’ a Marks & Spencer Valentine’s meal for Mr Bennet and then we swung from the chandeliers at Ashley Towers.

(Actually we both fell asleep after a bottle of Moet & Chandon. Rock ‘n roll, eh?)

On Tuesday and Wednesday, I worked on the first few chapters of my new book so I could show my agent.

This morning I found myself working on the final proofs of Wish You Were Here, my June US release with Sourcebooks and talking to my agent about Fever Cure, my new sexy romance available from Samhain in July.

In June and July I shall be cloning myself… with two books to promote at once, I’ll need to! All help gratefully received. 🙂

I’ve also been writing for my day job, cleaning the house ready for Ms Bennet’s arrival on Friday and planning for Mr Bennet’s birthday this weekend…

Then there’s Twitter, Facebook and blogging – I’d better scoot, I think!

But I love being busy so much more than the alternative…what about you?

UPDATE

I’ll have a must read post on my blog tomorrow that every aspiring author (and me!) should read. It’s called What Not to Say to an Editor – before and after you get a contract. It’s by Jane Holland, editor of Embrace Books – don’t miss it!

Catching my breath too, Phillipa! It’s been a mad week hasn’t it? The sort of week where you get wistful about ironing for a few hours listening to the radio in a trance like state …

OMG – ironing – moi! Call a doctor!

Seriously though, Gimme a shout for June and July. helping hands outstretched and waiting.

You have just accepted the King’s Shilling – or rather the Queen’s. I shall send out rugged looking naval officers to press you into service…

Phew, and I thought I’d had a busy week.

    Looking forward to tomorrow’s post.

Yes but I don’t have a full time day job, Debs!
