Finished my edits – is it just me but…

After the devastating news from Japan, I hesitated before even posting about something so trivial as writing but I suppose, none of us would ever post again on that basis, so here goes…

This morning I finished my first round edits on Fever Cure.

These are the lightest edits I’ve ever had which is fantastic – but I’ve once had a ginormous rewrite too – so I’m the last one to boast.

I wish authors wouldn’t post they’ve had no edits because reading ‘Hurrah! My ed got back to me and hasn’t changed a single word‘ on an author blog, used to be the most demoralising thing I ever found as a new writer (and a newly published one.)

Or maybe it’s just me that rewrites my drafts several times and gets edits too.

So I’ve added my dedication to the book and I’m ready to send it to my lovely Samhain ed. This is the moment where I I’m thinking – Oh blimey, that’s it – I hope my readers love the book.

It’s probably the most emotional, intense, sexy and romantic book I’ve written. If you liked Decent Exposure/Dating Mr December for the romance, hotness and emotion, I think you’ll really enjoy it. It also features, very fleetingly, a couple of characters from It Should Have Been Me.

I had great fun filling in the cover art sheet – what other job encourages, nay demands, that you suggest handsome men to inspire the artists? I just can’t wait to see it!

This week, I have lots of commercial work and hopefully, more news about Brief Encounters. 🙂 I may also find time to write some more of Miranda which has ground to a halt with work on my two US releases.
