The Roman baths at Wall with The Trooper pub in the background

I meant to have a quiet day, with my head down writing and working. I needed a quiet day because we went out last night with my parents and Mr Bennet’s parents to celebrate mum and dad’s 40th wedding anniversary, My m-i-l’s birthday and a belated Father’s Day. It was a really happy evening, with lots of laughs and a lot of wine. 🙂 We’ve finally got a great ‘gastropub’ called The Trooper just a couple of miles away and I heartily recommend it – it’s next door to the old Roman site of Letocetum.

At lunchtime, I checked my googlemail to find that Wish You Were Here is the Book of the Day! You can see it here. I didn’t know anything about this, so it was a real surprise.

I’ve seen some other news on the web about Dating Mr December but I’m trying to find out if it’s true – and no, it’s not a BBC series starring Richard Armitage as Will. Sadly, not that exciting but … we’ll see. 🙂

PS I am scheduled to be at Laura’s Reviews today, talking about holiday romance movies so if you’ve got any favourites, come along and add your ideas.
