Hot news about Festival of Romance
September 29, 2011
Are you enjoying the glorious warm weather we’re having in the UK? I’ve had to get the shorts out again and we’re definitely going to be out and about making the most of it over the weekend.
However, looking forward a few weeks, I’m very happy to say I’ve booked my ticket to the Festival of Romance on Friday October 21st. The Festival is for readers and writers of romantic fiction and I just had this press release about it:
There’s so much exciting Festival news to share!
Let’s start with cupcakes. Famous in the 80s and 90s LOVESWEPT has relaunched and you can meet your favourite LOVESWEPT HERO at the Festival and what’s more he’s there to give you a LOVESWEPT cupcake. Yum.
Now chocolate! CHOC LIT’s chocolate tasting will now include a chocolate making demonstration courtesy of CHOC Chick. Ooo!
Enough sweet stuff. Have you seen what’s new on the Festival programme:
For Her Eyes Only! Meet erotic authors and editors at a special erotic romance panel.
So You Want to Write Short Stories? Join in Helen Hunt’s workshop.
Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves! Join in the discussion about what’s kindling the boom in self-publishing.
The Xciting launch of the Xcite Win A Publishing Contract Competition.
We just announced this week the shortlists for the READER AWARDS. Congratulations to all the authors shortlisted.

Meet these authors and more at the Festival, and take up the challenge to read all TEN SHORTLISTED BOOKS for the FESTIVAL BOOK GROUP. Join in the chat on Facebook at http://en-gb.facebook.com/#!/groups/220774001317700/
We’re also DELIGHTED to be welcoming to the Festival:
Authors Philipa Ashley, Antonia Adams, Lucy Felthouse and Berni Stevens
ROUGE, the UK’s newest romance line, will be at the Festival with a chance to hear about all the plans and meet editorial director Gillian Green. Don’t forget everyone is invited to the ROUGE online launch Girl’s Night In TODAY from 4pm to 8pm at www.rougeromance.co.uk
There’s still tickets left for the Festival so if you want to come, it’s not too late to book. We also still have one to one slots available for your chance to personally meet editors from MILLS AND BOON and TOTAL-E-BOUND.

Next week I have fellow Festival author, Charlotte Betts, winner of the RNA New Writers Award 2011 as a guest on my blog – and I’ll be guesting on Charlotte’s site.
Have a great weekend
Stevie Carroll Says:
I still can’t decide whether to go. I’ve got an all day meeting in London on the 20th and then a medical writing conference to prep for.
Phillipa Says:
It would be lovely to meet at last, Stevie, if you can make it.
Stevie Carroll Says:
Well, my new mountain bike cost less than anticipated, so I may manage the trip yet.
It would be great to finally meet in person, I agree.
