Cheap weeks and breaks in ‘Emma’s’ Lakeland apartment

How do you fancy staying in the very apartment that inspired my first book, Decent Exposure?
As many of you know, we have a holiday apartment In the heart of the Lake District. It is situated in a former 1920s ‘gentleman’s residence’ at Waterhead near Ambleside and has amazing views over the head of Lake Windermere.
Normally, every week in October would have rented by now but a combo of the Olympics and some unsavoury weather means we have a few vacancies in the next few weeks so there is a 20% discount off every remaining October week.

Autumn is a glorious time to visit the Lake District. The leaves are turning so the landscape is ablaze with russet, red, gold and bronze. The roads and fells are quieter yet there is still so much to see and do. Almost all of the stately homes and National Trust heritage sites are still open and you can enjoy dozens of Lakeland’s finest walks right from the door of our flat.
Our favourite walk is from the door along Rydal Water to Grasmere to Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount, two of Wordsworth’s homes.
Ambleside is always buzzing with cafes, pubs and restaurants as well as quirky shops and the brilliant Zefferelli’s art house cinema. The flat is cosy, light and very spacious – it sleeps 2 and is romantic and very well equipped.
Five minutes stroll takes you to the lake shore and the Waters’ Edge Inn – from where Will and Emma set off on their yacht cruise on Windermere. You can even book the yacht itself.
